Jane Johnson
Jane Marie Johnson, age 91, of Osseo, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026, while in hospice care, surrounded by her loving family at Heatherwood Assisted Living in Eau Claire.

Jane was born on January 22, 1935, in the Town of Arthur, Chippewa County, Wisconsin. She was baptized in Cornell, Wisconsin, and confirmed in 1948 at Osseo Lutheran Church in Osseo by Reverend O.C. Aune.

As a young child she moved with her family to the Scotts Valley area of rural Augusta. She attended all eight grades at the Scotts Valley Country School and later attended Augusta High School, graduating with the Class of 1953. For four summers, she worked at a boys’ camp in Sagner, Wisconsin, and later was employed at the Osseo Corner Café.

On March 7, 1959, Jane was united in marriage to Lloyd Johnson at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church. She continued her membership at the church where her children were baptized and confirmed and where she taught Sunday School.

Jane and Lloyd farmed on the Johnson family farm before moving to their farm on Condensery Road just outside of Osseo. They later moved into the city of Osseo in 2014.

In addition to helping on the family farm, when the Osseo Hospital was first built in 1964, Jane was asked to join the staff as a nursing assistant, she dedicated 35½ years to caring for others at the Osseo Area Hospital and Nursing Home in this role.

Following the passing of her husband in 2022, Jane remained in her apartment in Osseo until declining health required her to move to Heatherwood Assisted Living in Eau Claire on February 17th. of this year.

Following Lloyd’s passing, Jane devoted more time to the embroidery she so dearly loved. She created many treasured pieces, including baby blankets for her great-grandchildren, along with numerous table runners and pillowcases. Many newlywed couples were gifted her, “Love You, Love You More” pillow case sets that were embroidered with love.

Jane truly enjoyed the company of her caregivers and once the day’s tasks were finished, she often convinced them to a friendly game of Garbage, a game that her granddaughter Rachel taught her. She also loved spending time in the kitchen, baking and especially Christmas cookies such as sunbuckles, which she gladly shared with family and friends.

She appreciated time outdoors, whether camping with Robin, Leann and the pups or taking walks with Sue around her apartment, the fresh air always brightened her spirit. She looked forward to the weekends at Val and Gary’s that usually included walks with Gary and Jeremy and also the scenic rides taken with Barb around the countryside..

Most of all, Jane cherished time spent with her family and was always up for an outing to see her great-grandchildren, and she even enjoyed her 4 legged grand puppys and cats.

Jane will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, including her 3 daughters, Sue (Mark) Consigny of Osseo, Barbara Johnson of Onalaska, Valerie (Gary) Christiansen of Altoona; son Robin (Leann) Johnson of Tomah; 12 grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah) Compeau, Cory (Sam) Compeau, Alain (Emily) Consigny, Amanda (Travis) Thibodeau, Ashley (Scott) Curtis, Alexandra Hamamoto (Jake Lundgren) Abigail Hamamoto (Nathan Walsh), Bradley Christiansen (Joie Puig), Rachel Christiansen, Jeremy Christiansen, Leah Woodcock, Andrew Cahill; 14 great grandchildren, Alora and Letti Compeau, Burkley and Harper Compeau, Kole and Maggie Consigny, Tinsley Thibodeau, Benedict, Penelope and Leo Curtis, Alayna and Koko Hamamoto, Weston Walsh and Thomas Christiansen; many nieces and nephews.
