Steven Sudbrink
Steven L. Sudbrink, 64, of rural Augusta, WI, passed away at his home due to a fall on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

Steven Leonard Sudbrink, son of Arnold and Naomi (LaGesse) Sudbrink, was born December 13, 1947, in Chippewa Falls, WI, and spent the first 15 years of his life on a farm in rural Colfax, WI. In 1962, Steve and his family moved to Ludington Township, rural Augusta. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1966, and went on to attend Chippewa Valley Technical College where he received an associate degree in auto mechanics. From September of 1969 through March of 1972, Steve served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. After his honorable discharge he returned to Augusta and was united in marriage to Leanne Dombrowski in May of 1973 at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Steve worked most of his life for Bush Brothers and Company of Augusta, starting as a semi driver before working in the plant and eventually as a mechanic. Steve loved raising and riding his horses, pasturing and taking care of cattle, tending to his gardens and fixing many types of machinery. He also enjoyed the camaraderie and time spent at auctions, but also the quiet time reading about history.

Steven will be deeply missed by his daughter, Tammy and John Slavich of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Cody, Megan and Dylan Slavich; stepchildren, Christine (Curtis) Hackeloer of Charleston, SC, Mike Wroblewski of Eau Claire, WI; mother, Naomi Sudbrink of rural Augusta, WI; two brothers, Mark (Sharon) Sudbrink of rural Fall Creek, WI, Carl (Lori) Sudbrink of Colfax, WI; sister, Susan Sudbrink and Mike Phillips of Menomonie, WI; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold, on September 13, 1990.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 21, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ludington Township, rural Fall Creek. Burial with military rites will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
Friends may call 1 hour prior to services Sunday at the church. The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
