Ron Smith
Ronald H. Smith, 75, of rural Strum, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire. 

Ronald Herman Smith was born August 25, 1937, at home in Foster, WI, to Herman and Ann (Weber) Smith. He graduated from Osseo High School in 1955, and married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Webber on Feb. 9, 1957. Ron worked as a carpenter and farmer his entire life. He started E & R Construction with Elwin Buchholz in 1981, and worked building homes for B. J. Farmer in the Eau Claire area. He was baptized and confirmed at Holy Guardian Angels Church. He was a life long member of Holy Guardian Angels Church then St. Raymond’s of Penafort, where he was very involved with church activities and served on the church council and many other committees. He was active in the Knights of Columbus at the local and district level. He was a charter member of the Trinity Council, served as Grand Knight for 5 years and District Deputy for 3 years. He was a recipient of the Medallion Award and Wisconsin Family of the Year Award.  

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ann (Weber) Smith, two infant daughters and daughter-in-law, Jensia. He is survived by Bonnie, his wife of 55 years, sister, Marie Thoma of Mondovi, son, Darrel Smith of Strum, 2 daughters, Deborah(Tim) Sinclair of Stillwater, Kayleen (Darren) Guffy of River Falls; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raymond’s of Penafort Catholic Church, rural 
Fall Creek, with Father Derek Sakowski officiating.  
  
Burial will be in Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. A prayer service will be held Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Ron’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Mayo Clinic Dialysis on London Road in Eau Claire, for the wonderful care and friendship shown to him and his family during the time he spent under your care. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
