Henrietta Nelson
Henrietta E. Nelson, 87, of rural Augusta, passed away at her home in the loving care of her family and St. Joseph’s Hospice.

Henrietta Elizabeth Nelson, daughter of Henry and Mabel (Lavine) Moeller was born Dec. 7, 1924 in Butlerville Township, Clark County. She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith and attended the Black Country School in Butlerville. As a child she moved to Wilson Township in Eau Claire County, where she attended Progress Country School. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Hamilton in 1943, just shortly before he was deployed overseas to serve during W.W. II. Less than a month into his deployment, Lloyd was killed in action. Henrietta later married Emery George Nelson on June 17, 1946 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wilson Township. The couple lived all of their married life in Eau Claire County, farming in Wilson Township before moving to their farm in Lincoln Township in 1964. When they retired in 1981, they moved to their present home just west of Augusta in Bridge Creek Township.

Henrietta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had a very strong and unending faith. She had been a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Augusta, and presently at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church, rural Fall Creek. While at St. Anthony’s she was an active member of St. Catherine’s Altar Society. She enjoyed helping with the farm chores wherever needed , the time spent in her abundant flower and vegetable gardens and then canning the fruits of her labor. Henrietta also took pleasure in sewing numerous quilts that she gave away to her many loved ones and also living up to her reputation as being know as the “cookie grandma. Over the years she spent many relaxing hours reading and countless fishing adventures with Emery.

Henrietta will be deeply missed by her 5 sons, Joseph (Betty Ann) Hamilton of Nazareth, Kentucky, Jerald (Eileen) Nelson of Eau Claire, James (Carol) Nelson of Thompsonville, Kentucky, Wayne (Mary) Nelson of Fall Creek, Ronnie (Denise) Nelson of Fairchild; 3 daughters, Hanna (Richard) Davidson of Eau Claire, Betty (Harold) Hayden of Menomonee Falls, Bernice Zank of Fall Creek; 28 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emery on July 18, 1991, daughter, Joan Nelson and brothers, John, Harvey and Fred Moeller.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raymond’s of Penafort Catholic Church, rural Fall Creek, with Father James Kurzynski officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Wilson Township.
