Lyle Kitelinger
Lyle A. Kitelinger, 58, formerly of Humbird, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012, at his home in Neillsville.

Lyle Alan Kitelinger, son of LaVerne and Alice (Lahn) Kitelinger, was born Sept. 21, 1953 in Eau Claire. He grew up on a small farm east of Humbird. Lyle attended grade school up on the hill in Humbird and graduated from Lincoln High School in Alma Center in 1971. He was active in the F.F.A., chess club and with the wrestling team. He was also active in 4-H, as he liked to work with animals and raise vegetables. He had worked in his younger days painting water towers, later at Frelk Northern Christmas Trees in Merrillan, at Buttke Farms in North Carolina, and loved driving tractors for various farmers around the area to complete their field work.

During his life he cut many pickup loads of fire wood, played many games of chess, enjoyed following the Green Bay Packers, NASCAR, visiting the local cafes and driving around in his pick up. In the past year he had numerous surgeries related to bladder cancer and had spent several weeks in the hospital followed by a lengthy stay in the nursing home. Most recently he had been recuperating until the time of his unexpected death. On July 4, 1980 he was united in marriage to Peggy Berg in Merrillan, and to this union his 3 children were born.

He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Rebecca Kitelinger (Billy Krenzelok of Chippewa Falls; 2 sons, William (Lisa) Kitelinger of Holmen, Robert (Kim) Kitelinger, serving in the U.S. Army in Baumholder, Germany; 3 sisters, Vicki (Rick) Boullion of Fairchild, Judy (Robin) Hawley and Lori Kitelinger all of Merrillan; 6 grandchildren, Sarafin and Annika Krenzelok, Julianna and Aaron Kitelinger, Trinity and Canaan Kitelinger; and special friend, Barb of Alma Center. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice in 1976, father, LaVerne in 1992, and sister, Connie Kitelinger in 2004.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairchild, with Pastor Ricky Bertels officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Fairchild Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services on Tuesday at the church. The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
