Ronald Harke
Ronald R. Harke, 73, of rural Augusta, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, following a lengthy illness.  

Ronald Raymond Harke, son of Raymond and Alfrieda (Strauch) Harke was born Oct. 22, 1939 in Eau Claire. Since the age of 4 he had lived in the rural Augusta townships of Lincoln and Bridge Creek. He attended Diamond Valley and Rodell Country Schools and graduated from Augusta High School in 1957. He was a life long member of Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, where he was baptized and confirmed. 
   

Ron was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Janet Lisetta Randall on June 6, 1959 at Grace Lutheran Church. The couple lived all their married life in Bridge Creek, where they farmed and raised their daughters.  

After retiring from farming in 1997, Ron was employed at M.R.S. in Augusta, working mostly in shipping and receiving... He later took a delivery position for Tom Randall at the Woodshed in Augusta. Due to ill health he fully retired in 2010. Ron was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, having served as Board President, as a trustee, on the building committee, played dart ball and sang with the church choir. He also gave of his time to serve on the boards for Bridge Creek Township, A.M.P.I., Augusta School District and the Federal Land Bank for Chippewa and Eau Claire counties. Ron enjoyed all types of sports and sporting events; following the Wisconsin teams and helping with the “Chain Gang� during the Augusta High School football games and the early Predator games. In his younger days his real passion was pitching with various local softball teams. Ron also looked forward to spending time with family and friends while fishing, hunting and camping in Wisconsin. 
 

Ron’s family meant the world to him, he will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by Janet, his wife of 53 years; 2 daughters, Renea Harke and Cynthia Barka both of Augusta; grandson Brady Barka of Augusta, 2 granddaughters, Chelsie Barka of Altoona, and Shantae Harke of Augusta; other family members and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alfrieda on May 13, 1987 and father, Ray on Sept. 13, 1999.  

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating. Burial will be later in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
