Dr. Jahn Sigmund Hansen, 5 Oct, 1952 - 5 Nov, 2012
Beloved husband, Father & Brother passed away peacefully at home in the company of his wife, Alice and his little dog and constant companion, Pippi.

He fought a courageous battle with cancer and will be greatly missed by all the people whose lives he touched. He lived an honorable life of service as a well respected member of the Oakleaf Medical Network.

He will be remembered for his keen intelligence and for the compassion in which he ran his private medical practice at Eau Claire G.I. Associates. (ECGIA)
Jahn was born in Adal, Norway to Magda Pauline Ellingsen and Paul Heitmann Hansen. He had an older brother, Egil and sister, Mai.

As a child he enjoyed skiing, ski jumping, camping, fishing and spending time in the woods.
He served in the Norwegian Army as a Jegger, an eliete special forces unit. During the 1970’s as an Industrial Painter.
1980, Jahn married Alice Murlin in Drammen, Norway. His son, Espen, was born the following year. They relocated to the United States in 1982 and Jahn attended the University of Montana in Missoula, where he completed his undergraduate work. He was accepted to the University of Washington Medical School in Seattle where he graduated with Doctorate degree in Medicine. His Residency and Fellowship in Gastroenterology was completed at West Virginia University in Morgantown where his daughter was born in 1991. He took great pride in the achievements of his children and family.

Dr. Hansen became a part of the Oakleaf Medical Network in 1996 when he moved to Eau Claire to practice medicine at ECGI Associates. He ran his medical practice with compassion and great wisdom.

He enjoyed skydiving, skiing, gardening, baking and caring for his farm animals. In recent years he became interested in boating and traveling to Alaska to hunt and fish.
A celebration of Dr Hansen’s life will take place at the Sacred Heart Hospital Chapel on December 8th at 11:00. Family and friends may gather an hour before the service to share memories.
