She eventually took employment as a nurses aid, working first at the Eau Claire County Home and than at the Northern Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled in Chippewa Falls, working there until her retirement. After her husband passed away she continued to life in Chippewa Falls until 2000, when she was the first one to move into the St. Paul’s Apartments in Augusta.  Since her marriage Rose had been a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ludington Township, and of its ladies society.
