Victor Albrecht
Victor A. Albrecht passed away in his sleep on July 11, 2012 at his home in Ludington after his 6 year battle against cancer. He was born March 14, 1936 to Albert and Louise (Knuth) Albrecht in the township of Ludington. He married Barbara R. Jenkins of Fall Creek, Wisconsin on June 29, 1958.
Vic is survived by his wife, Barbara Albrecht; his children, Cathy Cravey (John Blum), Randy "Rudy", Rory, Ray (Victoria), and Cindy (Steve "Egor" Higley) Albrecht; his grandchildren, Erin Cravey, Nathan and Sarah (Berger) Cravey, Aurora and Alex Albrecht, Josh, Jake, and Jordan Semanko, and also Trina, Terri, and Tami Semanko and their families; his great grandchildren, Grant and Grace Cravey and A.J. Hunter; his siblings, Arvella Howieson, Darlene (Donald) Schlegemilch, Clifford and Regina (Woodford) Albrecht and Shari Albrecht; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Richard and Sharron Jenkins, Sherry Jenkins, Mary Jo Jenkins, Mary Lou (Lowry) Albrecht, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Vic was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Louise Albrecht, infant son Timothy, grandson Jamie Ray Semanko, brother Vernon Albrecht, and brother-in-law James Jenkins.
Vic served in the Army from 1955-1958. He lived in Waterloo, lowa from July 1958 to May 1961. He moved back to Wisconsin where he worked in the woods logging for several saw mills and working for farmers in the area.
Vic and Barb celebrated 54 years of marriage on June 29th, 2012. Vic was very involved with his family life. He put many miles on his car attending nearly all of his children and grandchildren's baseball, softball, and football games as well as his great grandson's first t-ball game. He enjoyed hunting, throwing horseshoe, playing euchre, working on vehicles, and listening to Bob Uecker's Brewer baseball broadcasts.
Vic wished to thank St. Joseph's Hospice, Marshfield Clinic Cancer Center, Dr. Naqvi, and the nurses who provided excellent care during his battle with cancer. He would like to tell them to "Continue what you do because it's people like me who need people like you."
