Loren Wahlin
Loren Dale Wahlin, 62, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on March 20, 2026, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Loren was born on September 25, 1963, in Madison, Wisconsin. In his early years, his family lived in Fall Creek and Eau Claire before settling in rural Augusta. Growing up, Loren enjoyed cheering on the Packers, Bucks, and Brewers, as well as hunting, fishing, playing board games, wargames, and reading history. He graduated from Osseo-Fairchild High School in 1982.
After high school, Loren proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Combat Engineer and later graduated from Marine Officer Candidates School (OCS). He attended the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where he studied History and Political Science, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988.

Loren spent 20 years working as a bartender and manager at Wagner’s 66½ Lanes in Eau Claire, where he formed many lasting friendships and became known for his easy-going nature and quick wit. After the lounge closed in 2003, he began a career at ConAgra in Menomonie, Wisconsin, serving as a Crew Coordinator at Sanna Distribution Center and many other departments throughout his 25 years. Loren was a dedicated advocate for his coworkers and took immense pride in his role as Union Steward for Teamsters Union local 662. He was an advocate and representative that fought for union rights until his retirement in December 2025.

Loren was a proud father to Elijah and Lucas and found love again when he met his wife, Christina “Chrissy.” He was an avid outdoorsman who loved educating and mentoring his sons, wife and family hunting, fishing, boating, ATV, and UTV riding. He loved to spend time with his wife going to their favorite local spots, going to his son’s football games, and having many adventures together. Loren cherished his time with his sons, wife, family, and friends.

Loren is survived by his wife, Christina Wahlin, his sons, Elijah and Lucas Wahlin; Christina’s children, Christina, Boden, and Cassandra Holbrook, his brother Kevin Wahlin, his brother Steven (Tammy) Wahlin, nephew August Wahlin, Uncle Ken Kromrey, sister-in-law Linda (James) Bentley, nephew Jason Bentley, niece Shannon (Joseph) Barrois and many additional  loving relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, LaVern & Karen Wahlin, and his sister-in-law, Lori Wahlin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
