Julson Larry
Larry Dean Julson, 75, of rural Strum, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, July 21, 2026, at Care Partners Memory Care on Birch Street in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Larry was born on July 6, 1951, to Orvin C. and Lorraine (Segerstrom) Julson. He spent his early years growing up in Naples Township of Buffalo County, Wisconsin. A man of faith from his youth, he was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norden, rural Mondovi. He attended Mondovi High School, where he graduated before continuing his education at Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, earning his degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology.

A hard worker with a mechanical mind, in his early years Larry worked on the family farm before starting Nordic Neighbor Electric and Refrigeration and later operated LLAMM shops at his home.

On June 26, 1982, Larry was united in marriage to Margaret Hommes at St. John’s Catholic Church in Whitehall. Shortly after their marriage, Larry joined Holy Guardian Catholic Church in Brackett, later transferring his membership to St. Raymond’s Catholic Church at the same location.
Larry was a Fourth-Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, where had many roles including District Deputy, Grand Knight, and State Family Coordinator. Larry always looked forward to the Lenten fish fries at St Raymonds where he always kept himself busy.

Larry had a way of filling his days with the things he loved. He made honey, maple syrup and sorghum, enjoyed fishing, and looked forward to hunting every year on his land with friends and family. Winter meant snowmobiling and summer meant planting his garden.

Larry will be dearly missed by his wife Margaret; children Matthew (Jenna) Julson of Strum, Lisa (Ryan) Kleist of Fall Creek and Andrew Julson of Strum. Grandchildren Justin, Reed and Piper Julson and Westley and Wyatt Kleist; 2 brothers, Gary (Judy) Julson of Mondovi, Randy (Lynn) Julson of Merrill; 3 sisters, Betty (LaVerne) Doenier of Mondovi, Elsia (Gary) Prissel of Minong, Marion (Ron Jr.) Ferrante of The Colony, TX; in-laws John Hommes of Cannon Falls, MN, Mary Butcha, Minneapolis, MN, Teresa Weigers, St Louis Park, MN, Francis (Kathy) Hommes, Rogers, MN, Howard Hommes, Elk River, MN and Angela (Doug) Swanson, Long Lake, MN and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Larry will be reunited in Heaven with his parents, Orvin C. and Lorraine; grandson, Ryan Julson; and sisters, Linda Julson and Lorie Crawford; in-laws Elmer and Harriet Hommes, Patricia (Tom) Auger, Phyllis Hommes and Fredrick Hommes; nieces and nephews, Tricia Auger, Jeffrey Hommes and Daniel Julson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 3 to 7 p.m. at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Brackett, where a rosary service will be recited at 6:30 p.m.

The memorial mass officiated by Father Greg Bohren will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Raymond Catholic Church, with a visitation starting one hour prior to services.

Burial will be in Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery adjacent to the church.
