Richard Jenkins
Richard “Dick” Jenkins, 81, passed away August 2, 2026, at his home in Seymour Township, rural Fall Creek.
Richard Hurley Jenkins, son of Alvin and Florence (Stafford) Jenkins, was born on March 3, 1945, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was raised in the rural Fall Creek area, where he attended Oak Knoll Country School and Seymour Central before graduating from Fall Creek High School with the Class of 1963.
Dick was united in marriage to Sharon Neill on August 23, 1980, at her parents' home in Altoona. The ceremony was officiated by Sharon's brother, Pastor Dean Neill. The couple made their home on the Jenkins family property, where Dick’s family had farmed in earlier years. Altogether, he lived on the family homestead for 59 years.
Dick began his working career managing a service station in Fall Creek before moving to Waukesha, Wisconsin, where he worked for a cement contractor. In 1967, he began a career with the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation in the Eau Claire Sign Shop. During his years with the department, he had various responsibilities with the sign shop including such things as construction, installation of highway signs, and more, throughout the local state highway system. He retired after 37 years of dedicated service.
Retirement suited Dick well. He enjoyed spending much of his time cutting firewood for his family and looked forward each year to the annual deer hunting season. During quieter moments, he could often be found watching classic westerns or cheering on Wisconsin sports teams. Dick was happiest at home and never felt the need to travel far for entertainment. Instead, he treasured the visits of family and friends, always looking forward to the time they spent together.
Dick will be dearly missed by his wife Sharon; 2 daughters, Lynne (Steven) Stanger of Ladysmith, Bobbi Aggerholm of Eau Claire; son, Joel Aggerholm of Rosemount, MN; 3 grandchildren, Wade Stanger, Evelyn and Lily Aggerholm; 2 sisters, Barbara Albrecht of Chippewa Falls, Mary Jo Jenkins of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Sherry Jenkins of Fall Creek; several nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his father Alvin Jenkins and mother Florence (Sherwin) Konklin; and brother, Jim Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Lifespring Fellowship at 341 W. Prairie View Road, Chippewa Falls, with Pastor Karl Hanson officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Eau Claire.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
