Wayne Herrick
Wayne Edward Herrick, “Pete” 87, currently of Exeland, and formerly of Augusta and Chippewa Falls, passed away with his family by his side early Wednesday morning, February 4, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Barron.

Better known as Pete to family and friends, he was born October 23, 1938, and was the last living of the 11 siblings born to Dudley and Grace (Olson-Pettibone) Herrick. He was raised near the Dells Pond in Bridge Creek Township just north of Augusta, and attended the Dells Country School. Following his education he served in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge he returned to Augusta and was employed by Jerry Randall Livestock, where he mainly drove cattle truck. The majority of his adult life he enjoyed working as a grader operator for both Allied Blacktop and Senn Blacktop out of the Eau Claire area.

Pete loved the outdoors, especially when he was camping, fishing and hunting. He also looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren, but any time spent with family and friends was a blessing. For the past several years he made his home with his daughter in Exeland, sharing daily life and treasured time together, in the comfort of family and familiar routines.

Pete will be dearly missed by his 4 children, Debra Kellum and Scott (Val) Herrick all of Bloomer, Cynthia Herrick of Exeland, Lonnie (Teresa) Herrick of Merrillan; 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Donna and Laura Herrick both of Augusta; and many nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Grace Herrick; brothers, Lenard, Dick, Tony, Kenny, Jerry and Lawrence “Bill” Herrick; sisters, Karen, Peggy Sue and Sueann Herrick and Nancy Wolfgang; brother and sisters-in-law, Judy, Lois, and Rosie Herrick, Arnold “Buck” Wolfgang; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A time to reflect Pete’s life with a visitation and viewing will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
