Shawn Hanson
Shawn Marie Herrick, passed away peacefully under hospice care on December 13, 2025, in Pitkin, Louisiana, where she had moved four years ago to make her home with her daughter. At the time of her passing, she had reached the age of 62 years, 5 months and 13 days.
Shawn, daughter of Dale “Tony” and Judith (Rosenberg) Herrick, was born on June 30, 1963, and was raised in the Osseo area alongside her three siblings. She attended Osseo Elementary and Osseo-Fairchild High School. For most of her life Shawn worked as a waitress in the Osseo and Augusta areas before ill health forced her retirement. She is fondly remembered by many in the community from her time working at the Hungry Hunter Cafe and the Red Dot Cafe, both in Augusta.
Throughout her life, Shawn was known for her quick wit and excellent sense of humor. She had a deep love for music and was a true fan of Elvis Presley, she enjoyed working in her gardens and also held a soft spot in her heart for animals. When her grandchildren were born, they became the central focus of her life. She treasured every moment with them, often sitting contentedly for hours watching whatever movies they wanted to see.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Judith Herrick (Dale Wright) of Pitkin, LA, and Roseanna Hanson of Augusta; sons, Tony Herrick and Travis Walker, both of Augusta; 9 grandchildren, Zoey, Chloey and Everly Wright, Dory, Jasmine, Samara, Sebastian and Benjamin Hanson and Trenton Walker; brothers, Dale Herrick Jr. of Fairchild and Doug Herrick of Merrillan.
Sean was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Judith; and sister Stacy Herrick.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
