Rosemary “Rosie” Twesme, age [82], passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a two-year journey with cancer. True to her nature, Rosie
was private about her health, and her passing came as a surprise to many who knew and loved her.
Rosie was born on May 25, 1943, in Whitehall, Wisconsin, to Goodwin and Norma Anderson. She attended Whitehall High School, where she graduated as valedictorian. She went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–Stout, earning a bachelor’s degree in education. While at UW–Stout, Rosie was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority, where she formed friendships that would remain close throughout her life.
On December 18, 1965, Rosie married the love of her life, Tom Twesme, and together they shared 60 years of marriage. They marked this milestone on December 18, 2025, just days before her passing, and celebrated earlier this fall with a special trip to Niagara Falls. Over the years, Rosie and Tom also loved traveling to Colorado and southern Texas, places that held special meaning for them.
Rosie was first and foremost devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband, Tom Twesme; her children Kristin (Fernando) Tibayan, Troy (Heather) Twesme, and Mark (Emily) Twesme; and her beloved grandchildren Madeleine, Sophia, Alexandra, Ethan, Owen, Eleanor, and Olivia. She is also survived by her sister Jacque (Greg) Pavek, nephew Josh (Katie) Pavek, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Goodwin Anderson and Norma Nyen, and her niece Sarah Pavek Jurgella.
Rosie dedicated much of her life to education and service. She began her career teaching Home Economics at Memorial High School in Eau Claire, WI, before choosing to stay home to raise her children. She later returned to teaching at Osseo-Fairchild High School, where she taught Home Economics and eventually transitioned into Gifted & Talented and At-Risk programs, supporting students with patience, creativity, and deep compassion.
Her faith was central to her life. Rosie was an active member of Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she previously served on the Endowment Committee, chaired the women’s group, and volunteered at countless church events over the years. In the last four years of her life, she was also deeply involved with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, helping ensure that children in need have a bed.
Rosie’s greatest joy was her family—especially her grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She loved time spent with them and showed her care in quiet, thoughtful ways. Beyond her family, Rosie found joy in her flower garden and in baking pies. She delighted in digging in the dirt, tending flowers, and caring for church and city flower pots. These pursuits reflected her spirit—attentive, creative, and always making something beautiful for others.
There is much that could be said about Rosie, but what stands out most is her gift for service and her ability to truly see people. Much like a scrappy bunch of flowers she could snip, tuck, and rearrange into something beautiful, Rosie saw the best in others and knew how to help those best parts shine.
A celebration of Rosie’s life will be held on January 10, 2026 at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church [50351 Harmony Street, Osseo, WI]: 10-12 PM Visitation; 12 PM Celebration of Life with a meal to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the OELC Youth program[50351 Harmony Street, Osseo, WI] or Trempleau/Jackson County Sleep in Heavenly Peace[50950 Elevator Street Osseo, WI 54758] in Rosemary’s honor.
