Eleanore Richards
Eleanore M. Richards, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Eleanore Marie Richards, daughter of Alvin and Ella Lambrecht, was born November 3, 1932, in the City of Augusta. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta and graduated from Augusta High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Lyle Richards on July 20, 1951 at the Grace Lutheran Church parsonage in Augusta. In 1962, Lyle and Eleanore purchased their farm just south of Augusta, which they operated until 1982, when they retired and moved to the City of Augusta. Eleanore and Lyle were also proud of reading electric meters for 20 years for Eau Claire Energy Cooperative. For many years Eleanore loved tending her vegetable and flower gardens. However, her family was her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Gary) Hetchler of Eau Claire; son, David Richards of Augusta; two grandchildren, Beth (Travis) Kraft of West Allis and Daniel (Lara) Marcheske of Reedsburg; five great-grandchildren, Megan, Tyler and Tanner Kraft, Mason and Olivia Marcheske; sisters-in-law Elaine Richards of Altoona and Joyce Richards of Eau Claire, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Fern Rosentreter and Lois Honadel; husband Lyle on November 28, 2011; and daughter Diane on July 9, 2022.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
The family would like to thank neighbors Bill and Bonnie Brown for everything they have done for Eleanore over the past several years.
