Brooklyn Peterson
Ho-Chunk name: T’aa Suuciga (Red Flyer)

Brooklyn Kay Peterson was born on August 26, 1989, in Eau Claire, WI, the beloved daughter of Levi Thunder Jr. and Dawn Peterson. As a young child, she suffered the loss of her father, a loss that deeply affected her. During this time, she lived between Fairchild and Arcadia.

She attended Osseo-Fairchild High School before graduating from Arcadia High School in 2008.  Following high school, Brooklyn worked in cleaning services and retail. Most importantly, she devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mom to her son, Dayton, and daughter, Ciara.

Brooklyn loved being outside regardless of the weather. She was always up for a round of golf, going for a walk, or spending the day at the beach. She loved animals, cheering on the Milwaukee Bucks, and Green Bay Packers. She also had a love for art, creating various paintings and doing pottery, which she shared a special bond with her daughter, Ciara. Birthdays were always special, especially with her custom made cakes! She was full of jokes and pranks, making a room light up with her infectious laugh! She was someone who made sure you never went hungry, often bringing food with her when visiting relatives and ensuring you had enough on your plate to last you a week. Brooklyn was a great mother and would do anything for her kids – making sure their hair was always perfect and dressed in the nicest clothes.

Brooklyn’s time with us was cut short when she passed away on Saturday evening, August 30, 2025, just 4 days after celebrating her 36th birthday.

She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed, especially by her children, Dayton Noble and Ciara Emerson; mother, Dawn Caballero-Perez of Arcadia; sisters, Jazmyn Thunder of Fairchild, Haylie Peterson of Osseo, Paige Peterson of Spokane, Washington, Lauralee Calindo of La Crosse, and Emily Caballero-Perez of Independence; brother, Dashell (Erica) Thunder of Bismarck, North Dakota; and her uncle, Kevin Peterson of Osseo.

In addition to her father Levi Jr., she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Sandra Johnson, Levi Sr. and Susan Thunder.

Native American Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, at noon at the Fairchild Community Center in Fairchild, with burial in the Fairchild Cemetery.

A public visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon at the center on Tuesday.
