Forrest Olson
Forrest Olson

Forrest M. Olson, age 87 of Osseo, passed away on April 29, 2025, surrounded by family. Forrest was born on January 30, 1938, in Clear Creek, Wisconsin to Sylvester and Beatrice Olson.

Forrest married Judy Norgaard on October 3, 1959. They later divorced. Forrest met Ramona Sell at a dance. His smooth dance moves had them doing the polka all the way to the alter on January 6, 1995.

Forrest was very proud of his heritage! Over the years, he was a farmer, cheesemaker, hauled canned and bulk milk for 22 years, was a mechanic and heavy-duty wrecker operator for Gunderson Chevrolet. He later had a roadside assistance business. After working at Ashley Furniture for ten years, he took on snow removal and lawn maintenance jobs.

His passion for his family’s legacy at the South Beef River Lutheran Church may be unmatched! He loved to fish and play cards, especially his daily cribbage games with Ramona and 500 or whist with his kids. He enjoyed fishing, watching grandkids at sporting events and old westerns.

Forrest was an excellent carpenter! He remodeled many family homes, working all hours of the day and night to complete projects. His tireless dedication to his craft, wherever he was in the broad spectrum of his life, made him well-known for telling stories and his ability to nap….literally ANYWHERE! He spent many hours in his garage and workshop, always having a job to do.

Forrest will be deeply missed by his wife, Ramona, of 30 years; daughters: Teresa (Tony) Burks, Lynn (Aaron) Vold, Angie (Todd) Faldet and Cheryl (Bill) Skoug, daughter-in-law Patricia Olson; Ramona’s seven children, generations of grandchildren and step-grandchildren; one brother, Bruce (Sue) Olson; brother-in-law Albert Scheele and sister-in-law Ella Olson.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Jeff and Todd; his parents Sylvester and Beatrice; two sisters, Sonia Scheele and Mavis (Roger) Myren; one brother, Gary Olson and Ramona’s son, Don.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mayo Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care. Services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at South Beef River Lutheran Church. Pastor Dave Christianson will officiate.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 2, 2025, 4:00-7:00 and one hour prior to service at the church. Burial at South Beef River Cemetery will immediately follow.
