David Mayer
David Lee Mayer, 78, of rural Fall Creek passed away at his home on hospice care and surrounded by his loved ones on Friday afternoon, November 21, 2025.

Dave was born May 10, 1947, the son of Joseph and Rosella (Brandstedter) Mayer. He was raised with his two brothers and sister in rural Fairchild, where he attended country school and graduated from Alma Center High school. He was brought up in a Christian home, having been baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairview. It was in the same church that Dave was united in marriage to Constance “Connie” Hoffman on May 11, 1968, and to this union two sons were born, Randy and Ryan.

Dave served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard from 1965 to 1972. He had worked at Presto and then spent the rest of his career as a carpenter for Local 1074. David always enjoyed the thrill and relaxation of riding his motorcycle. He and Connie traveled 37 states together on their many trips along with caring for his garden which gave him great pleasure. The annual trip to the hunting cabin was always something he looked forward to with his boys and family/friends. Dave also loved watching his grandsons play and cheering them on at their sporting events!

Dave is survived by his son, Randy (Sarah) Mayer, step grandson Brayden; son, Ryan (Bobbie) Mayer, grandsons, Peyton and Gavin Mayer; Jennifer Lahn his loving partner of 17 years; brother, Vern (Margaret) Mayer of Neillsville; and many in laws, nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his wife Connie on March 3, 2008, parents Joe and Rosella; brother Paul (Mary) Mayer; sister Elaine (Harold) Kaiser; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Helen Hoffman.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, at 11:00a.m at St Raymond’s Catholic Church in Brackett with visitation from 9-11 before the service and burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Fairview, rural Fairchild.

There will be a lunch served right after the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to local organizations in Dave’s memory.
