Brian Larson
Brian Allen Larson, 57, of Augusta, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Brian, the son of Bernard Larson and Kathleen Simcox, was born on August 4, 1968, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. As a young child, he moved with his family to Pleasant Prairie in southern Wisconsin, where he attended elementary school and Lincoln Junior High School in Kenosha. During his youth, Brian lived both in the Kenosha area and in Augusta with his grandparents on two occasions, attending school in Augusta during those times. He also spent time in Mesa, Arizona, where he attended high school before ultimately graduating from Augusta High School in 1986.
While in high school, Brian excelled in athletics, participating in football, basketball, baseball and track, but he especially enjoyed choir, where he used his musical talents in several school plays and solo ensemble performances. He was active in many school activities and cherished his time there.
Following graduation, Brian returned to Mesa, Arizona, where he worked for the Caterpillar Company in the parts division. He took great pride in his work and earned several honors for his achievements there. Later, he moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he held a variety of positions that reflected his diverse interests, including work at the Olympic Training Center, in manufacturing and in construction.
About three years ago, Brian returned to Augusta to be near family and had been employed in the dietary department at Augusta Health and Rehabilitation.
Brian was talented at anything he set his mind to and had a wide range of interests. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but was happiest outdoors when hiking or kayaking down a quiet river. He was a non-materialistic person who loved nature, was content with what he had, and was always willing to share and help others.
He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his mother and stepfather, Kathy and Charlie Gennings of Augusta; his brothers, Gregg Larson of Augusta and Robert Arries of Eau Claire; nieces Justine (John) MacGown and Sage Draeger-Arries; great-niece Libby MacGown; and great-nephew Noah MacGown.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Bernie Larson, and his grandparents, Bill and Sheila Simcox and Nate and Aurelia Larson.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
