Jeanine Dickinsen
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Jeanine Judith (Hubbard) Dickinsen, made her way to heaven on Friday October 17, 2025, at Augusta Health and Rehabilitation.

Jeanine, the youngest of 8 children, was born July 22, 1930, on the farm, in the township of Otter Creek. At age 2 the family moved to Augusta, then before starting first grade the family moved back to the farm. There she started school at Pride country school. 8th grade came with the adventure of riding the school bus and going to school in Augusta. Jeanine loved school, both the activities and classes, graduating in 1948 as co- valedictorian. Her love of reading and learning never left her.

On Christmas 1949 Dale proposed, and on July 29, 1950, they were married, celebrating 64 years together before Dale’s death in 2014.

Jeanine was a baptized and lifelong member of the Methodist Church, which became the United Methodist Church. A faithful member she taught Sunday school, was active in the UMW and sang in the church choir.

Jeanine had a creative touch sewing many items for the family when the kids were young, including making her daughter Debra’s wedding dress. She loved the arts, painting on canvas, crocheting, and ceramics. A lover of music, she sang for many years in the Chippewa Valley Choir.

Active in the community, she worked for many years on the election board in Bridge Creek, was part of Beautify Augusta, served on the Nursing Home board and the committee to build the Augusta JR/SR High School. Jeanine spent countless hours and traveled many miles with Dale to attend children’s and grandchildren's sporting events and other activities. Dale and Jeanine were members of the Augusta Booster Club and following the Augusta Beavers was automatic, whether or not family members were participating.

Jeanine was the heart of the home and family. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her surviving family: sons, Kent and Debra Dickinsen, Brent and Debbie Dickinsen; daughters, Stacia and Brian Strauch, Dana Dickinsen, and son-in-law Robert Nugent. 13 grandchildren, Jeanine Nugent, Danielle Nugent, James (Jamie) Nugent, Corey Nugent, Scott (Rachel) Dickinsen, Andrew Dickinsen, Brennan (Mandie) Dickinsen, Matthew (Emily) Dickinsen, Alexis (Dennis) Bergman, Brittany (Matt) Grunewald, Branden (Joslyn) Strauch, Brett “Ted” Strauch, and Amanda Landers. 19 great grandchildren, Jaidan Nugent, McKaylee Johnson, Charles and Henleigh Dawn Nugent, Thomas and Ella Dickinsen, Dominic, Chandler and Leona Dickinsen, Sophie and Hadley Bergman, Ty and Coy Honadel, Krew Grunewald, Noelle Strauch, Nate and Annabelle Thate, Levi and Owen Landers, sister-in-law, Doris Dickinsen of Yakima, WA; nieces, Paula (Ulo) Tamm, and Sandra (Paul) Mackendrick.

Jeanine was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Emma Hubbard; husband Dale in 2014; daughter Debra Dawn (2020), father and mother-in-law, Virgil and Emma Dickinsen; grandsons Braden Dickinsen (2008), Warren Honadel (2019), siblings Eva (Alvin) Rahl, Lucien (Tena) Hubbard, Grayce (Robert) Leach, Ruth (Clarence) Schoonover, Elva (Alton) Rahl, Leland (Mae) Hubbard, Loyal (Magdalena) Hubbard, brother-in-law Neil Dickinsen and brother-in-law Milton “Red” Dickinsen and sister-in-law Donna Dickinsen. Clara Knuth was a faithful friend who shared many cups of tea.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Augusta, with Pastor Jen Barnet officiating.

A visitation will be held Thursday, October 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, and one hour prior to funeral services.

Burial will be at a later date in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.

The family wishes to thank those who cared for Jeanine with compassion. In her home, Jean Erdman, Dodie Neuenfeldt, Penny Brost, Karen Lindberg and grandson Andrew. The staff of Augusta Health and Rehab lovingly cared for her for 4+ years. As the final days drew near the St. Croix Hospice team, were added to her care team.
