Ruby Julia Bauch (nee Dobrenz) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on October 22, 2025, at the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation. She was just two weeks shy of her 96 birthday.
Ruby was born on November 9, 1929, in Price, Wisconsin, to Julius and Phoebe (LeBarron) Dobrenz. As a small child, her family moved to Augusta, where she was raised alongside her three sisters. She was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta and graduated from Augusta High School.
On February 15, 1948, Ruby was united in marriage to Harold Frederick Bauch in Eau Claire. The couple made their home in Augusta, where they shared 57 years together before Harold’s passing in 2005. Together, they were blessed with one son, Dennis, and two grandchildren, Michelle LeBaron and Clint (Joanna) Bauch.
Ruby was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Augusta, where she was active with the Woman of the ELCA and regularly attended Bible studies. She was also a longtime member of the Augusta American Legion Auxiliary, holding many offices through the years.
Known to many as “Augusta’s Avon Lady,” Ruby enjoyed serving her customers and friends for over 40 years. She loved spending time outdoors tending her vegetable and flower gardens and treasured the many trips she and Harold took with friends from the Augusta area.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Harold on April 23, 2005; and sisters Ruth Kruschke and Marie Nelson. She is survived by her son, Dennis (Dorothy) Bauch of the Villages of Florida; 2 grandchildren, Michelle LeBarron of MN, Clint (JoAnna) Bauch of WI; and great children; Brendan, Brianna, Brynn and Reagan; sister Nancy Von Aston of Menomonee Falls, WI; several nieces, nephews and their families.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery, both in Augusta.
A visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the services at the church starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
