Eugene Dale Seefeldt, formerly of Osseo, passed away peacefully at the age of 88, Tuesday,May 28, 2024,at Mayo Clinic Health System in Osseo WI. Gene had been a resident of Augusta Heath and Rehabilitation since 2021.

Gene was born August 3rd 1935, to Barney and Ella Seefeldt in the township of Grover near Lena, WI. Gene and his four siblings attended the one-room Behnke Elementary School before graduating from Lena High School in 1952. Gene joined the Army in 1954 and served in Japan returning to the states with an honorable discharge in 1957. Gene then attended U-W Platteville and graduated with a teaching degree in Industrial Arts. It was during this time that he met Darlene Hageness whom he married on August 19, 1961. Their marriage was blessed with two children, daughter Sheri and son Steve.

Gene is survived by his daughter Sheri Aldarondo; son Steve Seefeldt, Maggie Seefeldt; three grandchildren Sara (Brandon) Cohen, Brenna Seefeldt, and Brody Seefeldt; brothers Vern Seefeldt and Ralph (Judi) Seefeldt; sister-in-law Zona Udahl; nieces Lynn ( Jesse) Clyma, Kristi (Paul) Cary, Stephanie (Scott) McDonald; and nephew John (Karen) Seefeldt.

He was preceded in death by Darlene, his loving wife of 60 years who passed away Feb 25, 2022; grandson Jesse Christen; parents Barney and Ella Seefeldt; brother Earl Seefeldt; sister Maxine Seefeldt; sister and brother-in-laws Nancy Seefeldt, Bev Seefeldt, and Otis Udahl; and mother and father-in-law Clarence and Luella Hageness.

Gene was raised with strong family and religious values along with a work ethic that was second to none. All these things were instilled in his children and grandchildren growing up. Gene loved to hunt, fish, and golf, teaching his son, daughter, and all the grandchildren these pastimes of his. He was always our biggest supporter and loved to cheer on his grandchildren at all of their sporting events.

He was known for eating too many of his wife’s never-ending baked goods, and an unmatched sense of humor. He was the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend a person could have and will be missed tremendously by all that were lucky to have known him.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, WI, with Pastor Dave Hoadley officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
