Sandy Knuth
Sandra Jean Knuth, 78, of Seymour Township, Eau Claire County, passed away peacefully in hospice care at Oakwood Health Services in Altoona.

Sandra was born April 18, 1945, the daughter of Rollyn and Margaret (Zingshiem) Ehlers of Fairchild, WI. She was raised with her 2 brothers in Fairchild, attended school there, performed as a majorette in the marching band and graduated in 1963 as the class salutatorian of Fairchild High School. Following her graduation, she moved to Eau Claire and attended Eau Claire Technical College. Before her marriage she was employed at the University of Wisconsin Stout library and Eau Claire bank.
Sandra was united in marriage to Larry Knuth on June 25th, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in Fairchild, WI.

Sandra’s faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was an important part of her life. She was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, having served as the church secretary, organist, in Ladies Aid, and Sunday school teacher for years. God gave Sandy a heart for people and a heart for animals, especially horses, and had many friends who shared that passion. She also took care of many friends, family, and church members in times of need. Sandy’s spirit of patience and servitude will live on as an example for all of us.

Sandy was a strong woman and had a terrific sense of humor. She was a talented artist, a great cook, and she could sew or craft anything she needed to make or repair. This of course carried over to the many unique gifts she made for people, and her family will always remember the giant trays of cookies and baked goods she put together for the holidays.

Sandra will be deeply missed by her husband Larry and her sons Eric (Julie) Knuth of Hudson, Keith (Megan) Knuth of Missouri, and Jaron Knuth (Nicole “Alice” Borchardt) of Eau Claire. Grandchildren Gabriel (Tia) Anderson, Caleb (Mallorey) Knuth, Payton Knuth, and Abigail Knuth. Great Grandchildren Soranna and Theodore and Sandy’s dear friend Shawn Gillette. Brother Thomas (Linda) Ehlers of Waupaca. Sister-in-Law Linda Ehlers of Somerset, WI. Nieces Shana (Matthew) Keil and Trisha Ehlers of Waupaca and nephews Mike (Shelly) Ehlers of Shoreview, MN and Mark Ehlers of Chippewa Falls, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rollyn and Margaret, Brother John, and stepbrother Bruce.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1500 Peterson Avenue, Eau Claire, with Pastor Lloyd Harter officiating.

Visitation will start at 10 am. Service is at 11am.

The burial will be later that day at the Fairchild Cemetery.
