Arnold Huff
Arnold Lee Huff, 78, of Osseo and formerly of Fall Creek, Augusta and Fairchild, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 1, 2024, at his home.

Arnie was born March 26, 1946, at his rural family home in Chippewa County, son of Clifford and Ida (Herman) Huff. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church of Fall Creek. His mother died when he was 7 years old. His older sister Betty and other siblings raised him in the rural Township of Ludington, Fall Creek, where he attended Fall Creek school. He went on to various jobs starting out as a milk hauler and this is when he met the love of his life, Vivian.

Arnie was united in marriage to Vivian Patricia Hudson on Aug. 20, 1966, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fall Creek. The couple raised their boys and farmed in Ludington Township. After Arnie suffered a heart attack he retired from farming and he and Vivian moved into the city of Augusta. Wanting to be back in the country they purchased a home on highway 10 between Fairchild and Osseo. They operated a machinery business called Wheels and Deals Ranch. While running the business, he collected over 100 tractors. In late 2018, the couple moved to the City of Osseo due to increase medical issues

Over the years the Huffs held various auctions, starting with selling cattle and then machinery but he also enjoyed attending auctions throughout the area.

He enjoyed several hunting and fishing trips over the years to Wyoming and Canada. Always creating a memorable experience for all that traveled with him.

Vivian, his loving wife of 56 years passed away on December 30, 2022, and since then he had been through a lot. He was hospitalized with pneumonia and suffered another stroke while in the hospital. He was truly a walking miracle as he had overcome many obstacles and health issues throughout his life and thanks to speech and physical therapy during his last illness, he was able to overcome and maintain. He was a “Tough Huff.”

In June 2023, Arnie made the journey with his son, Chip and his family all the way to Ketchikan, Alaska, to visit his middle son, Scott. Then in January of 2024, Arnie went on a road trip vacation with his son, Chip and his family to Pensacola, Florida, to visit his youngest son Curt and his family. This stay lasted a couple of months. Interesting thing was that he was able to visit with each one of his sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren prior to his passing.

Arnie had many interests but he cherished his family and friends the most. He was extremely proud of his family and called his sons regularly to keep in touch with their lives. His sister Betty also received a daily call as she was a very important person in his life and would always say “she raised me.” He also kept in contact with close friends which included daily visits with Roger.

Arnie is survived by his 3 sons, Arnold II and Sandy Huff of Hixton, Scott and Anitra Huff of Ketchikan, Alaska, Curtis and Tara Huff of Pensacola, Florida, 6 grandchildren, Jarrett and Samantha Huff, Kyra and Clayton Huff, Reegan and Jett Huff; brother Jim Huff Sr. and sister Betty Woodford both of Fall Creek; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary (Debbie) Hudson of Fall Creek, Dorothy (Duane) Dehnke of Eau Claire, Karen (Jeff) Stensen of Augusta, Joan Boyea of Cadott, Marlene (Kelly) Tessmer of Eau Claire; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his wife, Arnold was also preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Ida; infant daughter Jill Marie Huff; 7 brothers, Richard and Kenneth Huff and 5 brothers in infancy; 2 sisters, Carol Ruff and Ruth Tollefson; father and mother-in-law, Dave and Lillian Hudson; and brothers-in-law, Don Woodford, Billie Ruff, Andy Tollefson, Carol Huff, Barb Huff, Don Hudson and Dan Boyea.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at BethlehemLutheran Church, rural Fall Creek with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services Saturday at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m.

The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.

This was in a hand written note to Arnie from Vivian and he carried this note with him everyday.

“You are every season, every hope, and every dream I’ve ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, everyday we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours.”
