Robert Sell
Robert (Bob) Erwin Sell, 81, of Osseo, passed away September 6, 2023, at Lake Hallie Memory Care under St Croix Hospice. His loving wife Jean at his side Hand in Hand.

Bob was born June 29, 1942, the son of Erwin and Dortha (Yule) Sell. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church and graduated from Osseo High School.
Bob helped on the family farm and learned the satisfaction of a hard days work. That work ethic followed him through out his life. He started working at Wood Motor Company on the grease rack, eventually getting his degree as a Certified Electronic Technician. Markquart Motors took over the company and Bob remained there for several years. He was ready for a change and decided to give the camping world a try. He worked for Spickers US RV repairing campers until retirement. Bob soon discovered retirement wasn’t for him. He picked up a part time job at Stoney Creek Camp Ground fixing just about anything that would break down. This was his dream job. He was able to work for wonderful people in a relaxed atmosphere while making many friends along the way. Visiting with campers from all corners of the map. Bob finally retired at the age of 80 when Dementia started taking over his body. He was also a Reserve Officer for Eau Claire County for over 20 years. Bob was a hard working smart man that loved to be busy.

Bob was united in marriage to Jean ( Plummer) November 8, 1975, at Lake Street United Methodist Church. They shared almost 48 years of fabulous memories together. He was Jean’s best friend and Rock.
Bob had many hobbies. Number one was antelope hunting in Montana. Thanks to his nephew Wyatt, he was able to make one final trip last October and successfully came home with his antelope. He also enjoyed deer and turkey hunting. Never missed an auction, flee market or garage sale to find that certain something he just had to have. Every spring he would buy an old toy to work on all summer. Never wanted new, always had to be something he could fix. It was normal to have customer cars in our yard for repair. Bob kept many cars going for years. He also loved his tractors, tractor pulls and Hit and Miss Engines. Bob and Jean had a 2 seater tractor which they road in parades and passed out candy. They could be seen tootling around the neighborhood heading to McDonald’s for a cone. Cars would beep and wave. Bob looked forward to strawberry picking season and kept picking until he reached 100 pounds most years. Then came the sweet corn, he would fill the trunk up and come home and cook it in the turkey fryer to freeze for winter enjoyment.

He is survived by his loving wife Jean; daughter Nancy; Aunt Muriel from Texas and her children; cousins, Mike (Lisa) Sell and their children, Phyllis (Allen) Wathke and children, Maureen Anderson and Paul Yule; sister-in-law,Ruth (Rich) Olson; nephews, Rob (Marolyn) Olson, Randy (Liz) Olson and children; and niece Rhonda Olson and children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Dortha Sell; grandparents, August and Lilly (Thiel) Sell, Earl and Mildred Yule; uncles and aunts, Claris Yule in infancy, Paul Yule, Marvin and Dioney Sell; and in-laws, Wilmer and Joan Plummer.

For all of you that knew Bob he had no Filter. You always knew what he was thinking. He is now at Peace from the debilitating painful Dementia.

We would like to Thank all of the care facilities over the years that took care of Bob through his earthy Journey. And St. Croix Hospice, you’re Amazing! God Bless all of you. Jean would like to thank Ruth for being the wonderful sister to lean on.
