Ted Kuehl
Theodore “Ted” Victor Kuehl Sr, age 78, of Augusta, WI, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 8, 2023, surrounded by his family.

He was born to Victor and Fern (Shoemaker) Kuehl in Beloit, WI. Ted grew up in Butler Township in Clark County before moving to Eau Claire in 1959, where he attended Memorial and North High Schools. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Army and served his country for six years during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge he married Peggy “Sue” D’Lamatter on June 4, 1969.

Ted loved the woods. Logging was his passion and felt most at home in the woods operating a skidder. During his life he farmed, drove over the road, but always came back to the woods.

Aside from his love of logging, he also enjoyed fishing in his younger years and football throughout his life. His sense of humor and smile was widely known. He will be fondly remembered by all those who loved him.

Ted is survived by his loving wife Peggy “Sue”; 2 sons and 4 daughters, Theodore Jr. (Lynn) Kuehl; Tammie Kuehl, Trudi (Larry) Steinke, Todd (Bobbie) Kuehl, Trisha Kuehl, Cherish Kuehl; 2 brothers and 3 sisters, Vilas (Nola) Kuehl, Ione (Hank) Niehoff, Louise Von Haden Eda Potter and Victor Jr. (Brenda) Kuehl; many grand and great grandchildren; Aunt Ruth (Leland) Cornwell; extended family and many good friends.

Ted was preceded in death by his infant daughter Doreen Fay Kuehl; parents, Victor (Carol) Kuehl, Fern (Ed) Harycki; brother Ivan Kuehl; Peggy’s parents, John and Mattie D’Lamatter; grandson Justin Holman, brother and sisters-in-law, Ray Potter, Bonnie Smith and Rhonda D’Lamatter; nephews, Russell Kunz and Donald Lewallen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with military rites.
