Jean Heller
Jean Marie Heller (Solie), age 84 of Eau Claire (formerly of Augusta) passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Fairchild from cancer.

Jean was born October 23, 1938, to Hans and Anna (Zais) Solie in Chippewa Falls, WI. Jean worked at Presto, was a physical therapy assistant and CNA for Fall Creek Nursing Home and retired after 25 years. She then worked at Community Health Partnership as a home health aide, part-time at Sam’s Club and delivered Meals on Wheels.

Jean always had to stay busy, sometimes working two or three jobs. She was a caring individual who took food to the neighbors, flowers to family, friends, or clients in the hospital and cupcakes to the kids at Fall Creek school. If she saw a little kid, she would ask their parents if she could give them a quarter. She loved going to family reunions, spending time with family and dancing with the grandkids. She also loved to embarrass her kids on their birthdays singing happy birthday at their place of employment and had known a time or two of dancing in the stores. She loved having game night at family functions. Sometimes laughing so hard only to have tears roll down her face. She loved taking walks with her buddy, Bailey. She loved to shop, especially bargain hunting, going to thrift sales, flower shopping and loved a good buffet.

Jean is survived by her children: Steve (Wendy) Walker of Lake Hallie, Tammy (Steve) Bethke of Fairchild, Tom (Jen) Walker of Osseo and Sandy (Randy Barka) Brown of Augusta. Grandchildren: Thor (Sarah) Brown, Alexis (Austin) Brown, Shane Welter, Melissa Perkovich, Amanda (Josh) Wise, Alyssa, Matt, and Jake Walker, Stephanie Borchert, Kristie Walker, and Nick Walker; and step-grandkids Sarah (Herb) Erdman, Pete (Alicia) Bethke and Brian (Sarah) Bethke, and Sam & Mati Fransway. Great-Grandkids: Brock, Bobbi, and Billie, Ava, Camille, Halina, Dakota, Nekezia, Great-great grandchildren: Sebastyn, James, Harry, Gryffin, and Emery, sister Shirley Kulbeck from Virginia Beach and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Del Dehnke, her parents, brothers: James, Clarence, and Richard; and sisters: Norma, Barbara, and grandson Devean Hinton.

We would like to thank Sacred Heart Hospital 5th floor, St. Joe’s Hospice, and her doctor’s at Prevea Health .

Per Jean’s wishes she did not want a service but we will be having a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at her daughter Sandy’s house at S9886 Hwy. 27 in Augusta from 1-5 p.m.
