Aaron Hawkins
Aaron Arthur Hawkins, 43, of Augusta, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday evening, May 30, 2023.

Aaron was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on April 19, 1980, to Ellsworth and Judy (LeBarron) Hawkins. As a young child he returned back to his mother’s home town of Augusta, where he attended school and graduated with honors from the Augusta High School in 1998. Following his graduation he attended U.W. Eau Claire where he studied archaeology and anthropology.
On January 25, 2017, Aaron was united in marriage to Nicole Torres in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together the two were blessed with the birth of their daughter Ivy.

For the past 8 years Aaron had worked for the Cadott School District where he was currently a lead custodian. When not at work he thoroughly enjoyed fishing in Wisconsin. Some of his favorite spots were below the dam on Lake Eau Claire and most any river that he came upon. He also enjoyed the strenuous activities such as weight lifting, mountain and fat tire biking, but also the solitude of walking his dog at night through the streets of Augusta. You could often find him watching, football, basketball and hockey games and especially grilling for his family 12 months out of the year.

Aaron’s family was always the main focus in his life. He was wonderful and caring son to his mother Judy, devoted husband to Nicole and the “apple in his eye” was his 10 year old daughter Ivy.

It is so sad that such a loving heart failed way too soon in his life, but those who knew Aaron admired him for his kind, thoughtful and caring character.

In addition to his wife Nicole, daughter Ivy and mother Judy all of Augusta; he will also be dearly missed by his sister, Kim Marie (Donald) Doughty of Medford; and her children, Lissa Hawkins, Benji Tomkowiak, Faith, Don Jr., Hope and Max Doughty; uncle Jerry LeBarron of Eau Claire; aunt Josie Garbarini of St. Paul; brothers and sister-in-law, Joshua Whaley of Cadott, Ethan (Marisa) Whaley of Chippewa Falls, Tyler Whaley of Eau Claire, Logan and Hunter Fontecchio both of Augusta; niece and nephews, Eva and Cylus Whaley and Conrad Fontecchio; long time best friend Adam Zank of Augusta; and many other relatives and friends.

Aaron was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anson and Hazel (Davis) LeBarron.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Augusta-Bridge Creek Fire Station at 745 Industrial Drive in Augusta.
