Linda Flick
Linda Mae Flick, 73, of rural Fairchild, passed away late Friday evening, December 22, 2023, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Linda was born on June 4, 1950, in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Glennwood and Frances (Garbarino) Jones. She was raised in Phoenix until moving to Neenah, Wisconsin, as a young girl. She attended school in Neenah and graduated from Neenah High School in 1968. After her high school graduation she furthered her education and attained her License Practical Nursing degree.

She met Ronald Flick who was working on the railroad and the two were united in marriage in 1970 at Waukon, Iowa. With his work the couple lived in a few different locations but soon settled in Fairchild. In addition to raising their 4 children, Linda with her nursing degree was hired at Black River Memorial Hospital, where for several years she worked in delivery. During her employment at the hospital she also attended Chippewa Valley Technical College and received her Registered Nursing degree. Before retiring from nursing she took a position closer to home at the Fairchild Nursing Home. She always said that her nursing experiences went full circle from birth to her patient’s final days. She enjoyed nursing and always wanted to make sure that her patients were given the care and respect they deserved.

Next to nursing and her family, her passion was cooking and baking with her specialty being treats and sweets. It gave her great pleasure giving away her treats not only to her family but to her community. She was often seen delivering goodies around Fairchild and filling mail boxes. Sewing was also one of Linda’s favorite pastimes and sewing quilts to give away was another avenue in which she gave of herself to others. Over the years Linda enjoyed being able to go out to her garden to get fresh vegetables for her meals. She also opened up her heart to various animals and gave a wonderful home to many cats and dogs. When taking time to just relax you could find her sitting with Ron watching the Wheel of Fortune.

She will be remembered as an inspiration to others through her generosity and loving heart. Her faith was a tremendous part of her life and preferred worshipping from her own home. She often said, “I’m a Christian – a True Believer in God.”

Linda will be deeply missed by her 2 daughters, Michelle (C.D.) Simion of Fairchild, Melinda Lee of Augusta; 2 sons, Joseph Flick of Fairchild, Daryl Flick of Altoona; 3 step sons, Ronald (Kathy) Flick of Neillsville and Bruce and James Flick; several grand and great grandchildren; sister Melody Sessions of Oshkosh; 3 brothers, Bill Jones of Phoenix, Arizona; Brad Sessions and Thomas Welle Jr both of Oshkosh; step-father Thomas Welle Sr. of Oshkosh; brother-in-law Douglas Flick of Black River Falls; sister-in-law Shirley Bertrang of Fairchild; and several nieces and nephews.

This year Linda spent her first Christmas in Heaven with her Lord and Savior and reunited with her parents; and husband Ron who passed away June 17, 2023.
As requested by Linda, no public service will be held.
