Douglas Allen Dehnke, 62, of Eau Claire, passed away surrounded by his loving family at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, early Monday afternoon, June 12, 2023.
Doug was born Nov. 18, 1960, to Erwin and Minnie (Hagedorn) Dehnke. He grew up on a farm with his 11 sibling outside of Fall Creek in Lincoln Township. He graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1979, and then in 1980 started a nearly 40 year career as a pipe fitter. He worked mostly with companies based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and when he retired in 2019 he was with Sterling System of St. Paul.
On August 29, 1987, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Fall Creek, Doug was united in marriage to Karla Stanley of Eau Claire. The couple made their home in Eau Claire where they raised their 3 children.
In earlier years Doug and Karla had travel throughout the United States and had also visited Europe. He enjoyed fishing and loved sports, especially watching the Packers, Brewers and Bucks.
Doug will be dearly missed by his wife Karla; 2 sons, Kalob of Eau Claire, Keegan of Green Bay; daughter Jordan (Mariah McNew) of Altoona; 2 brothers, Duane (Dorothy), Vernon (Kathy) all of Fall Creek; 7 sisters, Lucille Webinger of Menomonie, Evelyn Kinderman of Eau Claire, Doris Dehnke, Virginia Jaenke, Norma Dehnke, Janet Boyea, Debra Dehnke all of Fall Creek; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Doug was preceded in death by his father in 1987; mother in 1992; brothers Melvin and Erwin Jr; and brothers-in-law, Walter Webinger, Ernest Dehnke, Eugene Jaenke and Johnny Boyea.
A private family service as requested by Doug was held at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial will be at a later date in the Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek.
