Nicole DeLashmutt
Nicole “Nikki” DeLashmutt

Nicole Marie DeLashmutt, 53, of Fairchild, WI, passed away at her apartment in Fairchild on Thursday afternoon, March 9, 2023.
Nikki was born May 15, 1969, in Eau Claire the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Kulinski) Friedel. She spent her early grade school years in Eau Claire where she attended Sherman Creek Elementary School. After her parents separated she moved with her mother to rural Fairchild and went on to graduate from Osseo-Fairchild High School in 1988.

Following her graduation, she with a couple of friends moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she was employed in the fast food industry. While in Phoenix she met Jeff DeLashmutt and the couple later married in 1990, to this union her son Dillon and daughter Alissa were born. When they divorced Nikki moved back to Osseo where she had worked at Source Cut for several years. She had also worked at Nortech Industries in Augusta and before ill health forced her retirement she was working as a baker at the Norske Nook in Osseo. For the past couple of years she had made her home in Fairchild. After moving back to Wisconsin she met Tracy Nichols and the two were blessed with their daughter Sera.

Nikki was always in her element when she was in the kitchen, as she was an excellent cook and was especially fond of baking. She looked forward to spending time outdoors hiking and camping with family and friends and was a loving grandmother to her grandson Aidyn.

Nikki will be deeply missed by her son Dillon DeLashmutt (Karly Erickson) of Cleghorn; 2 daughters, Alissa DeLashmutt of Eau Claire and Sera DeLashmutt of Strum; grandson Aidyn; mother and stepfather, Marie and James Lind of Fairchild; brother Lamont (Paula) Friedel of Fairchild; special friend Robert Drinkman of Fairchild; step-sisters, Desiree Friedel and Rhiannon Friedel; niece and nephew, Ashland and Ethan Friedel; 2 uncles, Chris Kulinski of Withee and Fabian Kulinski of Lublin; and Sera’s father Tracy Nichols of Strum.

Nikki was preceded in death by her father Joseph Friedel; maternal and paternal grandparents; and infant brother Lucas Mark Friedel.

A celebration of Nikki’s life with a memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. the Augusta Assembly of God Church.

A visitation will be held prior to services starting at 11:00 a. m. at the church.
