Bob Nuetzmann  "Chicago Bob"
Robert Arthur Nuetzmann Sr, more commonly known as “Chicago Bob” passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023, after suffering a cardiac event while at home on Tuesday.

Bob, soon to celebrate his 72 birthday on July 30th. was the son of Arthur and Alice (Palmer) Nuetzmann. He was raised with his 3 brothers in Joliet, IL, where he attended grade and high school.

Bob’s first marriage was to Deborah Story and to his union was born his son and namesake Robert Jr. After their divorce he was united in marriage to his wife and business partner Lynn Marie Oswald, and with this marriage he was blessed with his daughter Seaann.
While in Frankfort, IL, Bob owned and operated a television and electronic repair business. In 2002, Bob, Lynn and Seaann moved to Augusta, where the couple opened Chicago Bob’s Gun Shop and Repair Business.

If you once meet Bob you probably never forgot him. You would first notice his love for tattoos and that might be all you saw, but then soon realized the real person inside. He loved motorcycles, cars, boats and being outdoors. He had a huge heart and over the years rescued many animals which often had to be nursed back to health. It didn’t matter the species, from bats to skunks and everything in between, he took them in and often kept them as pets.

Bob and Lynn also owned a home overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Litibu, Mexico, and for 2 months each year spent the winters there relaxing and enjoying the tropical climate.

Bob will be dearly missed by Lynn, his loving wife of 29 years; son Robert Jr. (Tracy) Nuetzmann of Shorewood, IL; daughter Seaann (Tanner) Walker of Augusta; grandson Kaiden Nuetzmann of Shorewood; 3 brothers, David (Patricia) Nuetzmann, Steven (Marianne)Nuetzmann and Paul (Julie) Nuetzmann; mother-in-law JoAnn Oswald; step children, J. Allen, Dan (Ashley) Allen and Lisa Allen; Lynn’s siblings. Joseph Oswald and Charles (Lauran) Oswald; several nieces and nephews .

Bob was preceded in death by his father Arthur in 1998; and mother Alice in 2015.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 4 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
