Robert Bertram
Robert Jerome Bertram, age 61, of River Falls and formerly of Fairchild, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, shortly after being admitted to the Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Robert was born on May 13, 1962, in Milwaukee to Fred and Rosalie (Frister) Bertram. He was raised with his 4 brothers in Milwaukee until moving to Fairchild in 1976. He received his high school education at Osseo-Fairchild High School and went on to graduate in 1980. Following his graduation he returned to the Milwaukee area and lived and worked there for about 15 years before moving back to northern Wisconsin.
Robert worked mostly in a janitorial position, having been employed for UW River Falls and then at the Phipps Center in Hudson. He was currently working at a seed production plant in River Falls until ill health forced his retirement.
Robert was always a “free spirit.” He enjoyed writing music and playing the guitar for his own enjoyment. He was an avid comic book reader, concentrating mostly on the old superhero comics. He was also a huge fan of the Svengoolie horror movie television program as well as other science fiction movies.
Robert will be dearly missed by his 4 brothers, Fred (Laurie) Bertram of Hastings, MN, Charles Bertram of Henderson, Nevada, Brian Bertram of Fairchild and Paul (Diane) Bertram of Chippewa Falls; 2 nephews and 1 niece, Fred Bertram, Michael (Heather) Bertram and Krista (Andy) Geipel; 7 great nieces and nephews, Micah, Abbey, Haley, Owen Bertram, Claire, Henry and Paige Geipel.
