Cindy Young  aka Cindy Bertrang
Cindy passed away at the age of 64, surrounded by her loving family late Sunday afternoon, August 7, 2022, while in hospice care at the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation. Due to her failing health she had recently entered the home on May 25t.h. and shortly after that was taken into the care of Mayo Home Hospice.

Cindy Ann, daughter of Donald and Donna (Peterson) Edwards was born in Milwaukee on Oct. 9, 1957. She attended grade school in Milwaukee and James Madison High School also in Milwaukee.

Cindy moved to Fairchild in the late 1980’s, where she lived until her recent health issues. She had worked as a C.N.A. at the Fairchild Nursing Home but mostly with clients in their own homes.

Like her mother, even though she never had a drivers license, that did not prevent her from leading a full life, as she was able to get where ever she wanted to go with the help of her family and friends. She loved fishing and did so often at the pond in Fairchild and especially enjoyed fishing below the dam in Cornell. She also enjoyed riding ATV’s, watching crime related shows on television and the thrill of a winning “pull tab.” Over the years Cindy had several collections and was most recently collecting bears.

Cindy’s family meant the world to her and she was a very attentive aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She appreciated a well kept home, that was always decorated for each holiday with her Halloween decorations giving her the most pleasure. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed sharing her meals with others and over the years provided a loving and caring home to many of her pet dogs. She was also fortunate to have been a breast cancer survivor.

Cindy will be dearly missed by her 5 sisters, Marilyn Noggle of Augusta, Debbie Hagen of Eau Claire, Denise Edwards (Brian Hooker) of Augusta, Sheila (Jerome) LePage of Withee, Leann (Mitch) Balliett of Augusta; brother Rodney Street (Staci Edwards) of Fairchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father Donald in 2005; mother Donna Edwards Behlke in 2016; brother Jerry in 2000; and brother-in-law Dave Hagen in 2018.

A time to remember Cindy and to celebrate her life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at the stone barn across from the Anderson Funeral Home, adjacent to the Augusta Vet Clinic.
