Clara Knuth
Clara A. Knuth, 94, of Augusta, passed away Thursday morning, April 28, 2022, at the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation.

Clara A. Knuth, daughter of William and Anna (Luneberg) Jungerberg was born Jan. 20, 1928.  She was raised with her sister in rural Fall Creek, was baptized and confirmed at St. James Trinity Lutheran Church in Fall Creek  and attended  Pine View Country School.
Clara was united in marriage to Lamont “Monty” Knuth on October 16, 1949, at St. James Lutheran Church. The couple lived all of their married life in the Dells Pond area of rural Augusta.  After her marriage she joined Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, where she actively participated with the Ladies Society and had served as a Sunday school teacher.  She was a member of the Augusta Nursing Home Auxiliary and enjoyed helping with their fundraisers and assisting the residents with BINGO.  All throughout her life she had worked babysitting and cleaning for several in the Augusta area.

Clara always had a smile on her face and a cute little giggle in her conversations.  She was the happiest when helping others and always put the needs of others first.  She adored her 2 grandchildren, working in her gardens, sewing, doing cross stitch and working crossword and word find puzzles.

After her husband passed away on Sept. 28, 2012, she continued to live in their home until moving into the Augusta Monroe Street Apartments in 2014.  Due to failing health she entered the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation in the spring of 2021.

Clara will be dearly missed by her children, Debbie Solie (Jeff Wyatt) of Belvidere, IL, Gary (Annette Carroll) Knuth of Plainfield, WI and Lisa (Steve) Skoyen of New Richmond, WI; grandchildren, Abby (Mike) Stoffel of St. Paul, MN and Michael Skoyen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister Margaret Kromrey a resident of the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation; sister-in-law Algean Strauch of Augusta, WI;  nieces and nephews, Steve Kromrey, Doug Kromrey , Christine Kromrey,  Diane Reetz, Brenda Strauch Moore, Brian Strauch and Brad Strauch.

In addition to her husband Lamont; Clara was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna; brothers-in-law George Kromrey and Donald Strauch; and nephew Kent Kromrey. .

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating.  Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.

Friends may call 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
