Morris Jones
Morris M. Jones, Jr. formerly of Eau Claire, passed into the next life on February 20, 2022, at the Texas State Veterans Home in El Paso, Texas. He was born September 7, 1935, the first child from the marriage of Morris Melvin Jones and Gertrude O. Larson Jones. He was predeceased by his wife Bernita; his father and mother; brothers Keith and James and sister Nadine. He is survived by his only son John, last known residence Lebanon, MO; grandson Jonathan; his brother Craig of Anderson, SC; special friends A.Z. and Janet Holmes; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Morris spent 31 years in the military with 29 years of active duty. He had 13 deployments around the world. He had two Vietnam tours of one year each in which he earned the Bronze Star, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He turned down a promotion to Sgt. Major and retired as a First Sergeant.
After cremation, he will be put to final rest in East Pepin Cemetery in Lima, WI.
