Wilbert Breheim
Wilbert A. Breheim went into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by his family on December 7, 2021. Wilb was born February 3,1954, in Black River Falls, the son of Hazel (Dunn) and Wilbert Breheim. Wilb was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church and attended elementary school in Merrillan. In 1973 he graduated from Lincoln High School. He married his high school sweetheart Vonnie Flicek in 1976. Together they had two children Jeremy and Emily. Wilb enjoyed coaching his children and their friends in basketball, little league baseball and softball growing up. He even played shortstop on two slow-pitch softball teams for many years.

Wilb worked at the Foundry plant, Nelson Filter plant in Neillsville, and J&A Liquidators in Merrillan before starting at Leeson in Black River Falls. He wanted to see his children get a good education, so he got a second job working as a Black Jack Dealer to help pay for their college degrees.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and his property, where he was always busy tending to his blueberries, apples, and wood cutting. Wilb’s family meant more to him than anything in the world. His favorite thing was spending time with his loved ones and could often be found watching his grandchildren play sports, spending time at Callahan Lake for their summer vacation together every year and one of his favorite achievements was having his grandson request that Papa be on his birthday cake for eight years and counting. Wilb had the ability of bringing humor to any situation. He truly enjoyed making people smile and laugh.

It is impossible to put into a few short paragraphs what Wilb meant to his family and friends. We were Blessed to have him in our lives. Wilb was our Rock, my Soulmate, our Best Friend, The Monarch of our Family, Good-natured, a True Gentleman, Witty, and so much more.

Surviving Wilb is his wife Vonnie of 45 years, children Jeremy (April) Breheim of Alma Center, and Emily (Neil) Larson of Clear Lake, his five grandchildren to whom he was affectionately known as Papa B, Ethan, Miah, Evan, Nevaya, and Toby. His Best friend for 60 years Raymond Newcomb of Eau Claire, His brother, George Breheim, of Merrillan, Brad (Rose) Breheim of Minnesota, Ernie (Lucy) Breheim of Indiana, Deric (Cheryl) Breheim of Hixton, his sisters, Cheryl Morgan, Vernetta (Sam) O’Brien, and Cathe (William) Myers, all of Merrillan, Rita of Stevens Point, Brother-in-law Ray Theiler of Humbird, brother Larry Littlegeorge, sister-in-law Nancy Hutchens, several wonderful nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Wilb was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Hazel, infant sister, Coral, brothers Dane Breheim, Richard Breheim, sister Carol Lee Theiler, and brother-in-law Ron Morgan.
A private family service was held at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Terry Marg officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Merrillan, WI.
