Janice Flynn
Janice C. Flynn, 76, of Dallas, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Janice Cleo Flynn, daughter of William and Ruby (Andrews) Phillips, was born April 5, 1944, in Eau Claire. She attended school in Eau Claire and on Dec. 28, 1963, she was united in marriage to Michael David Flynn at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Eau Claire. The couple began their married life together in Eau Claire before moving to South St. Paul, Minnesota. After a couple of years they moved to Colorado where they stayed about a year before returning to South St. Paul. It was here that Janny raised her 4 children in addition to working several years during the 70’s at Armour’s Meat Packing Company .

Janny was an entrepreneur at heart, selling Avon door-to-door in the 70’s and also Tupperware. With her husband they operated a woodworking business building mantles for various fireplace stores. Over the years they created many beautiful finished products together. She was a social business partner with Evolv Health Products, through sharing her experiences she was able to help others with their health concerns. Since 2000 to the present she worked side-by-side with her daughter Julie in J&J Cleaning Service.

Janny’s most cherished accomplishment was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She deeply loved her immediate and extended family and nothing made her happier than helping others. At Christmas time she expressed her love to others by baking and giving out boxes of cookies. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, reading romance novels and watching TV with her children and staying up late watching mini series. If anyone needed help or guidance you had her full attention and she was often a wealth of resources. One of her favorite charities to contribute to throughout her life was St. Jude’s.

Mike and Jan had always wanted to return to Wisconsin so they purchased a piece of property outside of the village of Dallas. Eventually their land away from home became their permanent address when in the early 2000’s they moved and built their present home.

The property in Dallas allowed Mike and Janny to plant a large garden.
During the harvest season they would sell their potatoes and apples they had picked at the Dairy Queen in South Saint Paul. Being able to share their produce with others brought them great joy as well as the camaraderie that went along with it.

Over the years Mike and Janny, with family and friends enjoyed fishing, camping and snowmobiling in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Holidays were always spent with family and she especially enjoyed the gatherings at Christmas, and the Fourth of July celebration at Marion’s cottage on Lake Eau Claire in Augusta.

Janny will be dearly missed by Mike, her loving husband of 57 years; 4 children, Julie Wolf, (Bryan Andrews), Pat Flynn (Eva Jacobson), Jeanne Flynn, Sarah Flynn (Aaron Siebert); grandchildren, Amanda ( Ronnie Brewster), Mike, Nick, Jackee (Glen Smith), Jessica, Kaitlynn (Dan Pope), Quinn, Sydney, Monica, Hannah, Halie and James; great grandchildren, Riley, Grace, Faith, Chris, Austin, Samantha, Cory, Avery and Emma; brother Billy Phillips; sister-in-law Mary Flynn; former daughter-in-law Donna Flynn.

Janny will be greeted in heaven by her father William who passed away on July 21, 1985; mother Ruby on May 14, 1994; siblings, Keneth, Keith, and Larry Phillips; sister Shirley Anderson; and precious great grandchildren, Alydia and Blake. She is also preceded in death by Mike’s parents, Jim and Catherine Flynn; and siblings, Ron and Shawn Flynn, Kevin and wife Jennifer Flynn, Shelia McAdams, Mary Buckli and her children, Heidi Buckli-Gavinski and Brian Buckli.

A celebration of Janny’s life will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Richmond Room of the Lismore Hotel in Eau Claire at 333 Gibson Street.
