Dorothy L. Zhe, 88, of Oak Forest, Illinois, formerly of Augusta, passed away suddenly at her home Monday morning, Sept. 14, 2020.

Dorothy, daughter of Albert and Emma (Stevens) Rahl, was born Jan.19, 1932, and raised in Bridge Creek Township, rural Augusta, with her 3 siblings, Richard, Gordon and Margaret. She was the mother of Diane Roderick, the late Thomas Zhe and Brenda Zhe.  Dorothy graduated from Augusta High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Zhe on June 27, 1952, at the United Methodist Church in Augusta. The couple lived all their married life in Illinois, moving first to Crestwood and then to Oak Forest. While in Oak Forest they where members of the Methodist Church and over the years had fostered several children. Dorothy worked at the Dairy Bar of Augusta in her early years before moving to Illinois. In Illinois she worked at a dry cleaners and at Meaden Screw Products as a Qualtiy Control Inspector. Dorothy had always enjoyed dancing with Lloyd and over the years attended many dances. She also loved to work on her ceramics and crochet. 

She leaves behind her daughters, Diane of Hodgkins, IL, and Brenda (Mike) of Oak Forest; 8 grandchildren, Thomas Jr, Nicole, Michael, William, Elizabeth, Ryan, Nicholas and Angelina; 8 great grandchildren, Ashley, Hailey, Miranda, Mackenzie, Samantha; Maddison, Miley and Oliver; sister, Margaret (Dave) Seufzer of Augusta; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death her father Albert on Nov. 10, 1964; mother Emma on Nov. 30, 1995; husband Lloyd on March 13, 2010; son Thomas in April of 2002; brothers Gordon and Richard (Muriel) Rahl; and brother-In-law Harley(Betty) Zhe. 

A visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
