Ervin Eugene Sprinkle
Ervin Eugene Sprinkle, 59, of Merrillan passed away April 28, 2020, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse after a year-long battle with leukemia.
Erv was born June 13, 1960, in Black River Falls to Carl and Flora (Stoltz) Sprinkle. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Alma Center and served in the U.S. Army from 1979-1982. He married Deana Morgan June 3, 1988, in Merrillan. He worked for Northern Christmas Tree Growers in Merrillan for many years, starting as a teenager. Cal Frelk was not only his boss but was like a second father. He worked for Gerke Excavating from 2012 until his health no longer allowed him to work. While working for Gerke Excavating, he did a variety of different jobs and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. He was a hard worker, and he enjoyed the people he worked with. He was a member of the Merrillan Volunteer Fire Department and the Merrillan Lions Club. Erv had a passion for gardening, woodworking and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Deana Sprinkle; his daughters, Heather Sprinkle and Hayley Sprinkle; mother Flora Laufenberg; mother-in-law Cheryl Morgan; brothers, Alan (Laurie) Sprinkle and Jeff (Cheryl) Brown; sister Peggy Coffelt; brother-in-law Bradley Morgan; and sister-in-law Gena Morgan; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Sprinkle; brothers Dean Sprinkle and John Sprinkle; sister Betty Jean Sprinkle; brother-in-law Ronald Morgan; his grandparents; his aunt, Fern Scott; and his uncle, Robert Scott.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will not be a funeral service.
Burial will be in Curtis Cemetery in Garden Valley Township.
Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta is assisting the family with arrangements.
