Orval Lauterbach
Orval A. Lauterbach, 72, of Boyd and formerly of Foster, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 13, 2019 at the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation.

Orval Arnold Lauterbach, son of Arnold and Wanda (Haines) Lauterbach was born on August 10, 1946 and raised in Foster where he attended Foster Elementary School and was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He graduated from Osseo High School in 1964 and attended the welding program at Chippewa Valley Technical College. In 1964 Orval was united in marriage to Cathleen Wood and to this union their 3 children, Larry, Kelly and Wendy where born. After they divorced he married Loretta (Smith) Pettis in 1983 and was blessed with another son Landon. Orval farmed for 10 years before going full time as an independent long distance truck driver. He lived all of his life in Foster until moving to rural Boyd 8 years ago. Due to ill health he recently entered the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation. Over the years Orval had always enjoyed fishing and hunting in Wisconsin and with his son Landon he enjoyed going to tractor pulls together. He loved to laugh and more importantly to make others laugh.  

Orval is survived by his 2 sons, Larry (Joy) Lauterbach of Lakeville, MN, Landon Lauterbach of Boyd; 2 daughters, Kelly Olson of Lake Hallie, Wendy (Danny) Sluga of Osseo; 9 grandchildren, Aimee (Mike) Jackson, Shawn and Trevor Lauterbach, Lucas Olson, Kyle and Mitchell Sluga Barak Gelein, Kathleen and Bo Lauterbach; 4 great grandchildren, Jackson, Brielle, Addison and Jameson Theilman; brother Roger (Sue) Lauterbach of Eau Claire; 3 sisters, Jane (Dave) Holmen of Idaho, Virginia (Richard) Smith of Mondovi, Jeanie (John) Gallo of Florida; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. 

Orval was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Wanda; and son Joshua in infancy.  

A visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Foster. 

Memoiral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Timothy Moe officiating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Foster, rural Osseo.
