Bonnie M. Smith, of Augusta, passed away peacefully at her home in the loving care of her family and St. Joseph’s Hospice early Monday morning, Oct. 29, 2018.
Bonnie Mae Smith, daughter of John and Mattie (Johnson) D’Lamatter was born Dec. 26, 1953 in Stanley, Wisconsin. She was raised in Stanley where she attended elementary school and graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School.Bonnie was united in marriage to David Smith in November of 1980 at the home of Pastor Herbert Leitzke in rural Cadott. After the marriage the couple lived all their married life in Augusta. Over the years Bonnie had been employed for 18 years in the kitchen with the dietary department of the Fall Creek Valley Nursing Home. She had also worked on the line of Bush Brothers Canning Company during the harvesting of peas, at Ashley Furniture and as a waitress at Pineview Supper Club in rural Fairchild. Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her large family and playing bingo.
Bonnie will be deeply missed by David her loving husband of 37 years; 2 sons, Greg and Tricia Dull of Charleston, South Carolina, Eric and Melissa Dull of Cornell; 2 daughters, Pam D’Lamatter of Watertown, TN, Michelle and Chad Goss of Chippewa Falls; brother, John and Rhonda D’Lamatter of Fall Creek; 7 sisters, Joyce Ann Thalacker of Eau Claire, Peggy Sue and Ted Kuehl of Augusta, Patricia and Dennis Lewallen of Stanley, Donna LeMere of Eau Claire, Barbara and Brian Kunz of Augusta, Betty and Jim Brown of Augusta, Hazel Moyer (Baldemar Gutierrez) of Cadott; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father in March of 1978; her mother in October of 1990; and an infant brother William D’Lamatter in Feb. of 1953.
A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held Sunday Nov. 4, 2018 from 11:00 a. m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Augusta-Bridge Creek Fire Station at 745 Industrial Drive in Augusta.
