Betty Kohn
Betty R. Kohn, 69, of rural Fairchild, passed away very peacefully with her devoted family at her side on Thursday morning, Nov. 22, 2018.   She had been a resident of the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation since July of 2017.

Betty Rae Kohn, the daughter of Donald and Charlotte (Chambers) Trumph was born June 18, 1949. She was raised in Augusta where she attended grade school and graduated from Augusta High School in 1967. On June 22, 1968, Betty was united in marriage to Larry Kohn at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fairchild. Together the couple farmed and raised their 3 daughters in rural Fairchild. In prior years she had worked at the Cheese Hut in Hixton for Harold and Mary Jacobs and also for a time at Bush Brothers Canning Company in Augusta. Before and after retiring from farming in 2001, Larry and Betty both worked 14 years for North American Fly Ltd, the company owned by their daughter and son-in-law out of Strum. Betty cherished her role as wife and mother; sewing for her daughters, traveling with the family, baking countless delicious pies and tending to her grandchildren. She also loved the outdoors, camping with friends and riding motorcycle with her husband. For several years she bowled on both women’s and couple’s leagues. A hobby that she enjoyed with her husband was restoring vintage trunks and she also loved working on craft projects. When Betty married Larry she became a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Fairchild, where she enjoyed her involvement with St. Mary’s Altar Society.

Betty will be dearly missed by Larry, her loving husband of 50 years; 3 daughters, Leslie and Mark Rossow of Eau Claire, Kristen and Lee Christenson of Eleva, Sheri and Mike Lawson of Deerfield; 6 grandchildren, Justin, Hannah and Nicole Rossow, Evan and Ryan Christenson and Tyler Olson; 2 step grandchildren, Megan and Christopher Lawson; sisters-in-law, Shirley Petznick of Black River Falls, Betty and Frank Vojtik of Madison.

Betty was preceded in death by her father Don on Oct. 20, 1984, mother Charlotte on Nov. 26, 2001; andsister Jean Langworthy.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church-Fairview, rural Fairchild, with Father Daniel Thelen officiating.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
