Dennis Karaskiewicz
Dennis J. Karaskiewicz, 68, of Sparta and formerly of Fairchild, passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2018at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse.
Dennis Joseph Karaskiewicz, son of Florian and Barbara (Poczkalski) Karaskiewicz, was born January 15, 1950 in Chicago. As a child he was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faithin Chicago, and also attended school there. Dennis served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, serving from 1967 thru 1970. When he was discharged he returned to McHenry, Il. In 1991 he moved to Fairchild and more recently to Sparta, where since 2004 he had been employed for Northern Engraving. Dennis was an avid long time Chicago Bears fan and also enjoyed playing baseball and watching the Chicago Cubs. While in the Fairchild and Sparta area he spent many hours riding A.T.V. and had also enjoyed the time spent working as a D.J. in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Dennis is survived by his son, Joseph Charles Karaskiewicz of Illinois; sister, Debbie Haras of Fairchild; Aunt, Beverly Poczkalski of Wildwood, IL; 2 nieces, Brittaney Haras (Ron Wampole) of Fairchild, Melodey Haras (Randy Vetterkind) of Thorp; 2 great nieces and 3 great nephews, Summer and Watt Wampole, Madison, Gage and Blaine Vetterkind.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; Uncle Thomas Poczkalski; son, Jason Christopher Karaskiewicz.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Homein Augusta, with Father Daniel Thelen officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Fairchild Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
