Don Shilka
Don Shilka, 55, of Augusta, passed away on June 23, 2017 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Don was born on November 26, 1961 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, son of Tom and Judy (Goudie) Shilka. He was raised in Kenosha, where he attended school and graduated in 1980 from Reuther High School. Don was a tremendous craftsman and worked as an independent contractor through Wall-to-Wall in Eau Claire. In 1996, Don moved from Kenosha to the Town of Bridge Creek, rural Augusta. On July 6, 2002, Don was united in marriage to Amy Emerson at their current home in Augusta, the home that the two of them built together. Don was amazing at locating any waterfall that he and Amy could find on a map, especially ones in Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota, but also to states such as Tennessee and Kentucky.  Don was always thinking of others first, accomplishing whatever he could think of to make things easier, better and more fun for others.

Don will be dearly missed by his wife Amy; 4 children, Donovan, Dion, Devon and Damon Shilka all of Augusta; parents, Tom and Judy Shilka of Pewaukee; sister Amie Shilka George of Hartland; granddaughter, Rose Marie Shilka; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at his home in rural Augusta. At Don’s request the family will gather at a later time for a private service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated
