Gordon Robinson
Gordon C. Robinson, 82, of Eau Claire, passed away Monday morning, April 3, 2017, at Prairie Pointe in Altoona.  

Gordon Charles Robinson, son of Walter and Anne (Pawelke) Robinson, was born Aug.31, 1934 in Strum, Wisconsin. He was baptized in the parsonage of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Strum, and later confirmed at the church. He attended North Branch Country School and graduated from Eleva-Strum High School in 1952. After high school, Gordon enlisted in the United States Army and served most of his 2 year enlistment in Germany. After his honorable discharge he returned to Wisconsin, wherefor several years he worked for Short Construction. He eventually took a position withthe Eau Claire Post Office and during his nearly 30 year employment with the post office he worked in all capacities, but mostly on the loading dock. He retired in 1983. In 1960 Gordon married Shirley Pederson, they lived south of Eau Claire and raised 2 children. In 1998, Gordon made his home in Eau Claire. After his retirement he helped many area farmers by trapping pocket gophers. He also enjoyed the many hours he spent hunting and fishing in Wisconsin. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Foster, where he had served as an elder and helped with lawn maintenance when ever possible. 

  He is survived by his son, Ryan (Penny) Robinson of Cedarburg, WI; daughter, Heidi (Rick) Retherford of Morrison, CO; 2 grandchildren, Andrew and Thomas Robinson; 2 brothers, Warren (Charlotte) Robinson and Leonard (Josie) Robinson all of Osseo; 3 sisters, Irene Franson of Whitehall, Doris (Riley) Fletschock of Eau Claire, Janice (David) Erickson of Sun City, Arizona; several nieces, nephews and their families. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Mark, and sister Ruth Hasart.

A visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Foster, with services at 3 p.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Dennis Vossofficiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
