Meyer Willis
Willis E. Meyer, 87, of rural Fall Creek, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 at the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation Center while in hospice care and with his family by his side.

Willis Eugene, son of John and Lillian (Gunderson) Meyer was born April 12, 1929 in Eau Claire County. He lived all his life in Seymour Township, rural Fall Creek. He was a baptized and life long member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. He attended Oak Knoll Country School and graduated from Fall Creek High School. On February 1, 1958, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Lange in La Crosse. Willis raised his family on the Meyer farm and in addition to farming, he had plowed for Seymour Township, for 30 years drove milk truck on the weekends, and worked as a self employed carpenter. In 1994, Willis sold his milk cows but continued raising beef cattle and crops until ill health finally forced his retirement in 2015. Through the years Willis had always enjoyed traveling with his family and made many trips out west in their camper. He especially enjoyed his trip to Alaska. He also enjoyed hunting with his family and spending time at his cottage in Holcombe. He took pride in the fact that he was able to take lumber and stone from his farm and turn his basement cottage into a comfortable cottage home. In later years he spent many hours working on wooden handicrafts for family and friends. For several years he had served on the loan committee of the Fall Creek Credit Union.

Willis will be dearly missed by Sylvia, his wife on wife of 59 years; 3 sons, Eugene (Cheryl) Meyer of Amery, James (Sandy) Meyer of Chippewa Falls, Jerome Meyer (Lorraine Parks) of Cadott; daughter, Janice (Tom) Snider of Hayward; 9 grandchildren, Jacob (Amanda) Meyer, Jonathan (Megan) Meyer, Christine, Justin, Jennifer and Andrew Meyer, Taylor, Gabriell and Ronald Snider; 2 great grandchildren,Braden and Nora Meyer; brothers-in-law, Bill Glassbrenner of Altoona, William (Renee) Lange of Fall Creek: nieces, nephews and other relatives.
