Larry Ida
Larry L. Ida, 71, of Augusta, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, August 18, 2017.

Larry Lawrence Ida, son of Lawrence and Ruth (Lange) Ida was born May 28, 1946 in Eau Claire. He was raised in Lincoln Township, rural Fall Creek, where he attended Rodell Country School and graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1964. He had also attended UW Eau Claire. On August 20, 1966, Larry was united in marriage to Linda Sieg at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta. The couple lived for a short time in Kenosha when Larry worked at J.I. Case in Racine. They moved back to the Augusta area in March of 1967 to help with family matters and had lived there ever since. For 25 years Larry worked in Eau Claire for NAPA Genuine Auto Parts, working the counter in sales. He then held that same position for Automotive Machine Works also in Eau Claire, before retiring in 2012 due to ill health. For many years Larry had bartended on the weekends at Ken and Jan’s Buckhorn Bar in Augusta, and at that time had also played on the Buckhorn men’s softball team. For many years he also shot in the pool league and trap league for the Buckhorn teams and most currently with the team for Trails Edge. Larry was an active member with the Augusta Sportsmen’s Club and for over 20 years served as club secretary/ treasurer and was still keeping track of the scores.  He also enjoyed the annual deer hunts and the camaraderie that went with it. 

Larry will be dearly missed by Linda, his wife of nearly 51 years; sonJames and Tonya Ida of Augusta, Shela Skarp of Eau Claire, Sharon Ida of New Berlin; sister, Darlene Ida of Fall Creek; 3 brothers, Michael and Rita Ida of DeSoto, Missouri, Harold and Bunny Ida of Osseo, Darrell Ida of St. Paul; 4 grandsons, Christopher Stabile, Garion Skarp, Andrew and Evan Ida; 3 great grandchildren, Sebastianand Julian Stabile and Hailey Skarp; 3 step grandchildren, A.J. Ortega,Alex and Abrianna Knutson; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Larry was preceded in death by his father Lawrence on August 25, 1993; mother Ruth on July 30, 2016; brothers, Dennis on May 3, 1967 and Roger on July 27, 2009. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
