Bruce Behlke
Bruce W. Behlke, 58, of Seymour Township, rural Cadott, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday evening, August 13, 2017.

Bruce Wayne Behlke, son of Louis and Dona (Moen) Behlke was born October 5, 1958 in Eau Claire. Bruce was raised in the Fall Creek area where he attended elementary school and graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1977. Bruce was united in marriage to Patsy Kay Kernan in the fall of 1981, and to this union their son Bobby was born. During his life he had farmed, worked with the rail road, as a meat cutter for Wisconsin Beef, but the profession he enjoyed the most was his lineman position with Mid-West Cable Company, where he installed fiber optic cable. Bruce had a variety of interests. His artistic ability was evident by the etchings he did on glass, he would tackle fixing most electronic equipment and was also an excellent mechanic. All throughout Bruce’s life he loved hunting and fishing. He was nicknamed “the dog” as he always seemed to find the location of the deer on the annual hunts with family and friends. Bruce had been in failing health for a few years but fought to be independent and free of assistance, not giving in to his illness.

Bruce will be dearly missed by his son, Bobby of Eau Claire; his 3 grandchildren, Jackson, Austin and Arieanna Behlke; 4 brothers, LaMoine Behlke of Augusta, David and Charlotte Behlke of Altoona, Gary and Patti Behlke of Eau Claire, Darrell Behlke of Cadott; 6 sisters, Maxine and Dan Maland of Jim Falls, Kathleen and Richard Thurman of Oklahoma City, OK, Patricia and Russel Vollbrecht and Rhonda and John D’Lamatter all of Fall Creek, Lynette and Stan Barnard of Chippewa Falls, Angela and Bill Northcott of Eleva; several nieces, nephews, and their families, as well as other relatives.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Behlke and Dona Behlke-Zempel; granddaughter Alexis Behlke; brother-in-law, Gary McIlquaham; and sister-in-law, Donna Behlke.

A celebration of life is being planned for Saturday afternoon starting at 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 7, 2017 at Darrell Behlke’s residence at 14025 St. Bridget Drive, Cadott, WI.
